Creating interactive and audio-visual rich resources requires the use of digital media. As well as images and videos you produce yourself there are many online sources of digital content that you can use.

Microsoft Design Gallery live - sounds / animations / photographs / clip art etc.. can be downloaded.
Yotophoto - search engine for locating free-to-use images (just see individual images for any conditions on use)
Pics4Learning - copyright friendly images for use in Education
Geography Association Photo Gallery – photos freely available for download for use in schools
Bigfoto.com – free photographs for downloading
Freefoto.com – free photographs for non-commercial use
FreeImages.co.uk - a stock of images free to use on websites and printed materials (see the terms of use)
EduPic – Graphical Resource – copyright free images for educational use
Morgue File – copyright free images for educational use

Sources of Downloadable Movies for Education
British Pathe – all content is free for download by UK maintained schools – video can be viewed in preview quality but schools are then able to download the full quality clips free of charge.
Open University Creative Archive – ‘Our Changing World’ – a series of 65 video clips available for download – also made available under the terms of the Creative Archive Licence
